Responsible for managing Human Resources activities and complex employee relations issues for designated business units the corporate office and distribution center(s) that effect productivity, compliance, manpower/succession, and growth strategies, as well as overall development/training needs. Provide consultation to both management and staff on all issues related to morale, diversity, company policies and procedures. Working Knowledge of Employment Standards Act, Human Rights, and Health and Safety Legislation and other relevant employment Legislation. Assist the corporation in meeting financial goals through the human resources functions. Assist leadership in all areas of HR including compliance, orientation/integration, career development, and performance management.

Meet regularly with Management to update Human Resources activities, compliance, etc. Recognize potential strategic employee relations issues, and take or recommend necessary action.

  • Manage and resolve team member issues by conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations in partnership with Employee Relations.
  • Work with Centers of Expertise to develop compliance and reporting, and recommend new program development or changes. Contribute to the development of HR programs designed to reinforce the company’s strategic and financial direction (ROI).
  • Ensure that disciplinary procedures are in compliance with relevant employment Legislation and company policies and procedures.
  • Proactively build and leverage HR Practices focused on enabling management and employees towards greater effectiveness, engagement, and retention.
  • Recommend improvements of HR capabilities. Oversee and conduct investigations of harassment, discrimination, and other employee complaints.
  • Provide direction on complex issues to ensure the uniform and equitable application of the organization’s policy and practices.
  • Actively participate in creating compensation policies and enforcement, as well as promotional guidelines and approvals.
  • Oversee performance management of employees/managers to include coaching, counseling, career development, and succession planning.
  • Service driven with strong people first orientation, Strong change management skills required. Ability to work well autonomously and with a team in a fast-paced, dead line-oriented environment

Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
     

Ability to acquire and apply a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience. HR Certification: CHRP/CHRL – preferred
  • 2-5 years’ experience in a Human Resource or HR generalist role. Experience with talent management and employee relations investigations preferred. Working knowledge of relevant employment Legislation.
  • Experience with Workday preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Strong understanding of HR processes and ability to achieve impact and influence through quality information, access, and awareness.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and employment laws.

SALARY: 85,000 - 100,000

  • Actual base pay will depend and vary based on factors such as individual experience and skills of the applicant.
