Job Summary: Under direct supervision, provides support to all Washington in functional areas of human resources. Responsible for hourly hiring support, new hire orientation, benefits administration, worker’s compensation claim processing and payroll histories, disability tracking, new hire and benefits status changes form processing and benefit open enrollment duties. Distributes and ensures all local recruitment, employment, and on-boarding paperwork is completed. Responsible for personnel and employee relations records maintenance. Assists in job evaluations, compensation management processes and HR customer services. Supports uniform tracking system. Assists in the development of human resources policies and procedures, engagement plans, and volunteer community events. Disseminates information via distribution of employee booklets, communications, and/or scheduling of employee meetings. Prepares and maintains statistics and reports in conformance with legislated requirements or organization needs. Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support Washington operations in functional areas of human resources under direct supervision.
Provide hourly hiring support and ensure local recruitment, employment, and onboarding paperwork is completed.
Coordinate new hire orientation and process new hire and benefits status change forms.
Administer benefits, support open enrollment activities, and maintain related records.
Process workers’ compensation claims; track disability and maintain payroll history information as needed.
Maintain personnel and employee relations records.
Assist with job evaluations, compensation management processes, and HR customer service support.
Support the uniform tracking system.
Assist with development of HR policies/procedures, engagement plans, and volunteer/community events.
Disseminate information via employee booklets/communications and scheduling employee meetings.
Prepare and maintain statistics and reports to meet legislative and organizational requirements.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Education/Training: High School Diploma required; college degree preferred.
Experience: Entry level; 1–3 years of human resources administration experience preferred.
Knowledge: Basic understanding of HR policies/procedures, positive employee relations practices, relevant HR legislation, and software applications; HRIS knowledge a plus.
Skills/Abilities: Uses existing procedures to solve routine problems with limited judgment; responds to standard internal/external customer requests; works within guidelines to meet objectives and deadlines; flexibility with changing priorities; strong results orientation; ability to operate a computer workstation; ability to organize and prioritize tasks; excellent verbal and written communication skills; professional business writing skills; customer service orientation.
