As an HR Business Partner (m/f/d), you play a crucial role in shaping how our business performs through its people. You work side by side with senior leaders in a fast-paced, commercially driven environment and help them make better decisions on organization, talent, and culture. In this role, you translate complex business challenges into pragmatic people solutions, strengthen leadership quality, and ensure that growth, transformation, and performance go hand in hand with our values and legal standards across our international setup. Your work has visible impact: you influence key strategic decisions, help build future-ready teams, and contribute directly to MB Energy’s long-term success in an evolving energy market.

Your tasks in a nutshell:

  • Partner with Senior Leadership: You act as a strategic sparring partner for senior leaders (including SLT and ExCom members), challenging and supporting them on all people-related topics.

  • Advise and Enable Managers: You provide managers at all levels with advice, guidance, analysis, and options for decision-making on personnel plans, people strategies, and all non-standard people topics (including M&A and post-merger integration).

  • Shape People & Organization Strategy: You advise on organizational design, culture and engagement, diversity and inclusion, talent and succession, reward and performance management, and capability and workforce planning, working closely with our People Centers of Excellence (CoEs).

  • Drive Development & Capability Building: You partner with managers to identify critical capability needs and define the right development initiatives in cooperation with the CoEs.

  • Steer Transformation & Employee Relations: You support and challenge managers in transformation and restructuring processes, proactively mitigate (legal) risks, and resolve employee relations issues in line with legal, compliance, and works council requirements as well as our Code of Conduct.

  • Connect Business and Global People Agenda: You act as the interface between the business and the People CoEs, recruit strategic key positions together with Talent Acquisition, and contribute to global People projects to further develop and implement the MB Energy People strategy.

What helps you to fulfill this role:

  • Education: A university degree in HR, business, psychology, law, or a related field.

  • Professional Background: Extensive experience as an HR Business Partner or comparable strategic HR role in a fast-paced, commercial environment, ideally within energy, commodities, or financial/trading businesses.

  • International Experience: Experience working in international organizations and cross-border setups.

  • HR Expertise: In-depth knowledge of core HR disciplines such as organizational design, talent and succession management, performance and reward, learning & development, and workforce planning.

  • Labor Law & Employee Relations: Solid knowledge of German employment law and hands-on experience in handling employee relations topics.

With these characteristics, you fit perfectly with us:

  • Strategic & Hands-on: You move confidently between strategic discussions and operational follow-through, enjoying both conceptual work and pragmatic implementation.

  • Business-minded: You understand commercial and trading drivers, work with data and KPIs, and use insights to challenge and support leaders in their decisions.

  • Communicative & Influential: You communicate clearly and to the point, adapt your message to different stakeholders, build trust quickly, and are able to influence and coach stakeholders at all levels – including senior leadership.

  • Integrity & Responsibility: You act with integrity, take responsibility for sensitive topics, and maintain a clear stance in critical situations.

Even if you do not fulfil all of the above requirements, we encourage you to apply if you believe your experience will add value to our team.
