Oliver Wyman Group is looking for an Applications Developer (VSTO in PowerPoint) who will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining .NET applications, VSTO and Office.JS for creating extensions that meet our organizations needs. This role requires solid understanding of ASP.NET Core architecture, strong problem-solving skills, and collaborative teamwork. This role is 100% hands on development/implementation.

We will count on you to:

  • Design, implement, and maintain desktop applications and VSTO add-ins using clean code principles (SOLID, dependency injection, layered architecture). Apply best practices for Office object model automation and COM interoperability.
  • Write unit and integration tests for desktop and Office solutions. Engage in thorough code reviews and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for Office add-ins and desktop apps.
  • Security & reliability: Follow identity and access best practices; logging and metrics; assist in incident resolution.
  • DevOps: Contribute to CI/CD pipelines (build, test, deploy) and environment configuration.
  • Collaboration: Work with product owners, QA, and UX, fellow engineers and stakeholders to refine requirements and deliver features.
  • The work is 100% hands on development or implementation

What you need to have:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in .NET development (ASP.NET Core, REST APIs, Desktop Applications).
  • Experience with development of VSTO add-ins/extensions (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and knowledge of Office.js
  • Proficiency with Git/GitHub, Mongo DB.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML/CSS/JavaScript) and a modern framework (React or Angular) is a plus.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD with GitHub Actions.
  • Strong communication and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with focus on quality and maintainability.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and growth minded.
  • Practical LLM usage for productivity (code assistance, test scaffolding) and implementation where appropriate.

What makes you stand out?

  • Experience with C# desktop application architecture, including event-driven programming and Office object model automation via VSTO. Familiarity of MongoDB.
  • Git/GitHub workflows; CI/CD via GitHub Actions.
  • Observability basics (structured logging, tracing, dashboards) and configuration management.
  • Knowledge of services offered by AWS and Azure environments.
