Our challenge

We are seeking a skilled Hogan Developer to support the ongoing enhancements, conversions, and maintenance of Hogan core banking systems. The successful candidate will have extensive experience designing, developing, and troubleshooting Hogan application components, with the ability to lead conversion efforts and ensure smooth deployment of new Hogan releases.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Pittsburgh, PA/Dallas, TX is $120k - $125k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and document complex Hogan application components across modules such as DDA/TDA, RPM, CIS, PAS, Umbrella, ODS, and CAMS.
  • Lead system conversions and the implementation of new Hogan releases, ensuring minimal disruption and adherence to project timelines.
  • Monitor batch processes and JCL jobs related to Hogan applications, optimizing performance and resolving issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in online (CICS/IMS) and batch environments efficiently.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for deployments, system upgrades, and performance tuning.

Requirements:

  • Deep expertise in Hogan Core Banking modules, with substantial experience working on process dictionary components (PCDs).
  • Strong mainframe development skills, including COBOL II, VSAM, JCL.
  • Experience with tools such as Cain Easytrieve, SORT, ICTOOL, and familiarity with source control systems like Expeditor, Endeavor, and Changeman.
  • Knowledge of CICS, IMS, DB2, and MVS systems.
  • Proficiency with Hogan utilities such as PEM, CDMF, Librarian, and managing Logical Environments.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Experience with Hogan system upgrades and conversions.
  • Familiarity with banking or financial services industry processes.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within diverse teams.
