We are seeking a talented individual to join our Health & Benefits team at Mercer. This role will be based in Seattle, WA. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Specifically we are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Project Manager to lead annual health plan renewals and complex cross‑functional initiatives from initiation to delivery. You will translate strategy into executable plans, align cross‑functional teams, manage scope/schedule/budget, mitigate risk, and act as the primary contact for stakeholders and vendors. The ideal candidate combines strong delivery discipline, excellent stakeholder management, and the ability to influence outcomes.
Key Responsibilities include:
Coordinate carrier teams (medical, dental, pharmacy, vision, HSA) to renew a large portfolio of health plans.
Lead weekly renewal status meetings with clients, third‑party administrators, and internal stakeholders.
Document plan‑level decisions and ensure accurate implementation of changes.
Create and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, resource forecasts, and budgets; monitor the critical path and dependencies.
Triage issues, assign owners, and drive timely resolution.
Collaborate with product owners or business leads to refine requirements and prioritize work.
Facilitate the production, testing, and quality control of key deliverables.
Analyze annual deductible changes to ensure compliance with current ACA and CMS statutory limits.
Manage retroactive plan changes and negotiate carrier corrective actions to resolve discrepancies.
Lead and support the annual review of plan documents.
Coach, mentor and, where applicable, supervise junior project staff; promote project management best practices and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
BA/BS degree.
Active life and health license preferred.
Proven experience in healthcare within a large corporate or consulting environment.
Strong knowledge of ACA regulations, Medicare Part D, and health plan design.
Demonstrated project management skills and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to work effectively with carriers, clients, and internal teams.
Proficiency with benefits administration systems and data analysis tools.
Detail oriented with a commitment to accurate, high‑quality deliverables.
Ability to lead meetings, facilitate discussions, and present complex information clearly.
