Head of Wealth Distribution
The Head of Wealth Distribution role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and is a strategic partner in the build-out of TIAA's wealth management and retail offerings in furtherance of our mission of providing more of our clients with the advice that they need. This position is responsible for leading and building the field-based wealth management advisors and a centralized virtual advisory capability responsible for engaging, growing and retaining individual client relationships through the delivery of financial planning and appropriate product solutions. This leader is responsible for achieving advisory growth plans, financial targets, client relationship management, advisor development, advisory regulatory statute compliance and internal business policy adherence.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Sets the strategic direction for TIAA Wealth Distribution in line with the enterprise strategy and mission; shape overall TIAA enterprise strategy in concert with fellow Leadership Network members. TIAA’s main differentiator is that we lead with financial planning, ensuring that each client has an industry leading experience, thus bolstering our brand and enabling us to scale the business.
  • Partners with Wealth COO to set and implement the strategic direction; with Institutional Distribution to drive referrals and deliver a seamless client experience; with Product Distribution to ensure our products are aligned with distribution to clients; with the Digital and Customer Experience Office to deliver flawlessly to our clients; and with the appropriate Human Resources, Finance, IT, Legal, Risk and Compliance partners to run the business.
  • Creates and maintains the infrastructure to appropriately scale the business in support of our growth objectives. Maintains focus on scaling the business responsibly from a financial, regulatory, and efficiency perspective to ensure we are achieving our goals the right way. Takes action as necessary to partner with the Head of Business Operations and Strategic Investments and remediate any regulatory or compliance issues.
  • Leads the development and monitoring of key performance indicators to build, manage, and measure a wealth distribution organization.
  • Attracts, motivates, develops, and retains diverse talent necessary to ensure the ongoing success of the business and to grow future leaders. Proactively manages the strategy for talent to create and engage the hiring plan to ensure client coverage across the US.
  • Cultivates an active external network; investing in building outside relationships in order to collaborate beyond the organization.
