Head of Network Interchange Optimization role within the Card Payments and Network Partnerships team leverages analytical and operational processes to improve interchange revenue across all Citi Credit cards. This leader will be responsible for team of payment professionals, setting priorities managing workstreams and providing direction, leadership and SME guidance.
Responsibilities:
Work with internal stakeholders to develop roadmap and capabilities for interchange optimization, transaction approval rate improvements and fraud prevention
Champion process and associated framework to review network expenses across all line of cards and analyze interchange at the detailed level to identify EBT impact opportunities
Engage with internal teams, networks and top merchants to improve transaction approval rates and generate more spending on Citi cards
Using analytical frameworks, work cross functionally to develop product and marketing strategies to influence customers spending behavior
Identify file linking and transmission gaps to ensure all spending was included in assessment for appropriate interchange
Optimize qualifications for premium interchange by working with Visa and MasterCard to develop spend assessment for premium products
Drive efforts to administer and monitor contract terms across all networks to ensure adherence to all terms
Develop monitoring to identify errors and partner with operations and technology to facilitate operational changes and discontinuing unnecessary and redundant services.
Work with analytics and finance teams to forecast interchange revenue on a granular basis and track actuals versus forecast
Manage a team of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions) as well as negotiate and make decisions on issues/activities having critical impact/influence on company revenues, capital, or business operations
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards

Key Experiences and Competencies:
Direct experience in card processing or networks with broad understanding of the card ecosystem.
Demonstrated ability to build strong internal and external relationships with a broad set of stakeholders to common goals and outcomes. Strong level of comfort leading successfully in matrixed environment
Strategic, analytical and systematic thinker who constantly challenges status quo and inspires the team to drive changes
15+ years of relevant experience. 8+ years of managerial experience
Education:
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Master’s degree preferred
