The broader Reward team (or chapter) encompasses Reward Consulting & Advisory, Reward Foundations & Insights, Reward Governance and Executive Reward. It aims to assist the business in maximising its return on its greatest investment: our people. We operate in agile environment which provides opportunities to work across prioritised projects requiring reward expertise across multi-disciplinary teams. The Reward Governance team is responsible for managing CBA’s Group reward governance and remuneration regulatory compliance agenda, and supporting the effective implementation of the Business Partnering, Reward and Leadership Effectiveness (BRLE) risk and compliance agenda.
About the role
Reporting to the Chapter Lead Reward Governance and International, your role will focus on managing the Performance and Reward team’s governance and assurance accountabilities, focusing on remuneration compliance, governance and disclosure.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Maintain currency in current and emerging remuneration regulatory requirements impacting all Group jurisdictions, specifically CPS 511
- Prepare papers on remuneration governance and assurance matters, including for the Executive Leadership Team, People & Remuneration Committee, main and subsidiary boards
- Review and analyse complex, global remuneration regulations and legislation to understand the impact and requirements for the Group, whilst ensuring consistent application (where possible).
- Contribute to the design and implementation best-practice remuneration governance policies and frameworks in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g. Prudential Standard CPS 511), supporting the Group’s strategy, and considering current and emerging market practice
- Build relationships and influence managers to ensure that all reward governance practice design and outcomes adhere to the applicable Group policies and standards and regulatory requirements
- Manage key remuneration governance and assurance processes, including remuneration approvals for regulated roles and remuneration disclosures
- Provide guidance, advice and reporting relating to remuneration governance and assurance for internal and external stakeholders
- Working closely with Legal, ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements
- Monitor compliance and effectiveness of the Group remuneration policy and governance frameworks and practices, and recommend improvements for approval
- Managing the review of relevant remuneration-related policies, including the Group Remuneration Policy
- Lead Reward Governance team and BRLE projects as required, including developing project plans, tracking progress and mitigating risks to ensure outcomes are delivered on time and as agreed.
About you
- 2+ years’ experience in financial services regulatory requirements or risk and compliance ideally focusing on Australia
- 1-2 years’ experience in reward or reward governance beneficia
- Strong consulting and advisory skills
- Sound understanding of the financial services environment and regulatory requirements
- Sound judgement and decision-making skills, and proven history of delivering outcomes
- Creative, commercial approach to problem solving
- Ability to deal with ambiguity.
