You will be part of Ocean Cost and Trades Finance, a diverse and motivated team which plays a central role in the transformation of the Ocean Business and optimization of our Ocean cost base. You will partner with the Head of Network Strategy and Platforms, as well as closely working with Head of Ocean Network Product and team on driving the network cost agenda, process optimization and contributing to uplift our customer outcome by deploying reliable, efficient, and innovative Network solutions.

As the Head of Network Cost Finance, you will enjoy being close to the execution of our strategy, influencing the outcomes in a direct and sustainable manner. This role will give you the opportunity to contribute to strategic decisions which optimize our Ocean Network and Operations, as well having significant impact on the financial performance of Maersk’s Ocean business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Partnering: Lead performance discussions and collaborate closely with business decision-makers on strategic priorities. Own the network cost narrative for senior leadership, including external reporting. Drive tracking and improvement of network cost initiatives in partnership with the business. Support Operational Planning (OP) reviews and processes with the Network Strategy leadership team. Evaluate alternative scenarios and provide clear recommendations.

  • Performance management and Reporting: Own and drive accurate, timely monthly reporting of Network cost and operational performance indicators.
     
  • Manage the holistic agenda for Network Strategy and Platform (NSP). Support the strategic positioning of financial and non-financial results, including defining quality and financial goals for NSP. Contribute to target setting and business planning for Service Delivery program outcomes.

  • Forecasting & Budgeting: Lead the coordination and execution of quarterly forecasts within the Deployment and Network Cost scope.

  • Coordination/Collaboration: Maintain strong connection with wider Ocean Finance community. Lead efforts to standardize processes and ongoing improvements that enhance efficiency and data integrity.

  • Leadership and transformation: Foster team engagement and support talent development. Foster a high-performing, inclusive environment where diverse perspectives are valued and everyone feels empowered to contribute.

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate for the role will have a background in high-impact finance leadership roles, with previous experience in driving  business results through financial insights.

A master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Business Administration combined with at 5+ years of experience in Finance Business Partnering, Project Management, Strategy Consultancy or equivalent.

  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leadership. You foster alignment and drive momentum across teams.
  • Empathetic and inclusive communicator, creating trust and engagement across diverse teams and cultures. You lead with authenticity and care, encouraging open dialogue and growth.
  • Proven analytical and agile mindset, capable of zooming in on critical details while maintaining a strategic overview. You translate complex data into clear, actionable business insights to support effective decision-making. Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large datasets are essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, combined with integrity and a humble approach that builds strong relationships across all levels of a global organization.
  • Industry experience in Shipping or Logistics is an advantage.

You are skilled in written and spoken English. Danish is not required.
