The FinTech team in Freenow is responsible for the full monetary lifecycle for the leading European Taxi Marketplace, providing a seamless and trustful user experience for our passengers, driver companies as well as supply providers. This team owns the creation and reporting of our financial data to the company, especially to the financial teams. The FinTech team is continuously innovating and optimising our payment experiences with high quality UX, personalisation and going deeper in solving user problems, while providing a compliant product. They are primarily responsible for business metrics like Cost of Sales, cashless share of Wallet, Bad Debt creation to name a few.
YOUR DAILY ADVENTURES WILL INCLUDE:
We are looking for a seasoned product leader with experience in leading a high-impact product organisation, deep experience in building and optimising FinTech marketplace products that create a compelling value proposition for the consumers and the business.
- Own the entire FinTech product strategy, vision, and roadmap for our high-scale European Marketplace across 9+ countries, acting as the commercial and technical owner of the full monetary lifecycle.
- Drive significant commercial impact by managing a multi-million Euro area of impact, leading strategic contract negotiations, and continuously optimizing the cost of sales of every transaction.
- Serve as the organization's subject matter expert on payment flows, fraud prevention, and complex European fiscal/invoicing regulations (e.g., VAT), ensuring domain compliance and state of the art experience.
- Lead three distinct Product teams to deploy cutting-edge, innovative features that maximize conversion and provide a seamless, trustworthy user experience.
- Master a complex stakeholder landscape, particularly translating detailed fiscal and regulatory requirements from the non-technical Finance Department into clear, actionable product requirements and securing executive buy-in.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:
- Experience: 5-7+ years in product development experience with proven, deep-dive expertise in Online Payment Acceptance, Settlement, and Fiscal Services within a high-growth European Marketplace business model (B2C/B2B). Ideally with 3+ years in a leadership position.
- Domain Mastery: Deep technical understanding of a marketplace payment architecture (3DS, tokenization), advanced fraud prevention systems, and the technical implementation of VAT and financial reconciliation processes (ERP integration).
- Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated history of successful, data and growth-driven commercial product accountability of a marketplace product, resulting in significant improvements in unit economics or impactful new business.
- Strategic Leadership: Exceptional ability to lead, coach, and scale multiple Product Managers, coupled with the executive presence to communicate and defend complex, regulated roadmaps to non tech- or payment regulation-affine senior stakeholders (Management, Finance or Legal).
