Head of Finance, UK & Ireland PDS/Tetris
Role Purpose
Drive finance excellence across UK & Ireland operations of PDS & Tetris as a key business partner to senior leadership, transforming financial insights into profit improvement and sustainable growth. Reporting to the EMEA HoF PDS/Tetris, lead financial strategy while leading a high-performing team that delivers exceptional value to business stakeholders across both jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities – covering the PDS/Tetris businesses in UK&I
Strategic Business Partnership with senior business leaders to identify growth opportunities and drive competitive positioning. Provide strategic financial partnering shaping business direction, investment decisions, and market entry strategies. Lead cross-functional initiatives delivering measurable performance improvements and margin enhancement. Translate complex financial analysis into actionable business insights for executive decision-making.
Cash Management & Working Capital Optimization; Working closely with the existing credit control team continue to push for optimal working capital efficiency through enhanced credit management and reduced debtor days. Lead accrued income reviews ensuring timely conversion to invoiced revenue across project lifecycles. Drive process improvements accelerating invoicing, collections, and payment optimization. Maintain robust accrual accounting practices supporting accurate financial performance measurement.
P&L Leadership & Profitability Enhancement; comprehensive P&L analysis identifying margin improvement opportunities through process optimization. Develop financial frameworks supporting pricing strategies and bid evaluation processes. Execute variance analysis and corrective action planning ensuring consistent delivery of financial targets.
Financial Planning & Forecasting; Own integrated financial planning delivering accurate forecasts incorporating pipeline analysis. Lead budget preparation aligning financial resources with strategic priorities. Ensure strategic decision-making and scenario planning is properly rigorous and data driven.
Management Reporting & Business Intelligence; Continue to improve on existing management & drive a data driven approach in the business. Ensure month-end processes consistently deliver accurate, timely financial information. Create business intelligence solutions enhancing visibility into key performance drivers.
Pipeline & Performance Analytics; Establish robust systems tracking sales pipeline, work in hand, and business development opportunities. Partner with operational teams optimizing performance dashboards and enhancing data quality. Push particularly around metrics to drive cross sell on clients in other business areas & existing accounts clients.
Team Leadership & Development; Manage and develop 2 direct reports, creating individual development plans to accelerate their growth. Expand team capabilities by delegating increased responsibilities and stretch assignments. Implement succession planning strategy enabling team members to take on enhanced strategic roles. Foster culture of continuous improvement and professional excellence within the finance function.
Essential Requirements
Professional Qualifications; Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with substantial post-qualification finance experience. Proven track record in strategic finance leadership with demonstrated business performance success. Experience in real estate, construction or consulting sectors highly advantageous.
Strategic & Commercial Acumen; Exceptional ability translating financial analysis into strategic insights driving competitive advantage. Proven success partnering with senior business leaders to identify growth opportunities. Strong commercial awareness of market dynamics, pricing strategies, and competitive positioning.
Leadership & Influence; Outstanding stakeholder management skills with proven ability to influence C-suite executives and senior business leaders to drive positive change. Demonstrated capability to challenge peers constructively, hold cross-functional teams accountable for deliverables, and drive difficult conversations that advance business objectives. Proven team leadership capabilities including talent development and succession planning. Strong communication skills with particular strength in upward and peer-level influence, ensuring finance insights translate into organizational action and strategic commitment.
Technical Excellence; Strong in business partnering and working capital management. Deep knowledge of management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting in complex environments. Experience with finance transformation and business intelligence implementation.
