Boeing Global Services (BGS) in San Antonio, TX, is seeking motivated, safety-focused early-career aircraft mechanics to join our team. This opportunity is designed for Hallmark University College of Aeronautics students nearing graduation who are preparing for careers as general, electrical, or structures mechanics.

In this hands-on role you will work on a variety of aircraft systems performing installations, repairs, rigging, and inspections at organizational and depot levels. This role emphasizes continuous learning, adherence to technical orders and quality standards, and the ability to work in a team-oriented, safety-critical environment.

Position Responsibilities:

Under direct supervision and guidance of an experienced mechanic you may be required to perform the following tasked based on role assignment:

  • Perform installation, removal, rigging, servicing, and troubleshooting of flight controls, landing gear, mechanical components, and associated systems
  • Perform component change-outs and replacements (for example servo pumps, filters, engine components) and other mechanical repairs to restore system functionality
  • Perform structural modification and repair tasks, including close-tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, installation, locating blind holes, shimming, sealing, painting, and preservation in accordance with standard repair processes
  • Use tooling assemblies and fixtures, precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, dial indicators), gauges, torque wrenches, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes/shears, and other specialized aircraft tools to perform depot- and organizational-level work
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, retrofit requirements, blueprints, wire diagrams, charts, tables, sketches, and standard work instructions to perform mechanical, structural, and electrical modifications and repairs
  • Diagnose and correct malfunctions occurring in assembly processes and troubleshoot mechanical, structural, electrical, and comms/nav-system faults at organizational and depot maintenance levels
  • Perform electrical and harness tasks including connector terminations (shielded wires, coaxial, fiber optic), routing and handling of harnesses, sealing/wrapping/bonding/tying/closure of wire harnesses and cables, assembly and installation of wire bundles and electrical assemblies, and operational and quality checks
  • Use fixtures and tooling for depot-level modification and repair of electrical wiring and assemblies; perform visual and functional inspections to ensure conformance to quality requirements
  • Interpret and follow routing instructions, wiring diagrams, and job layouts to ensure correct electrical installation and system performance
  • Access aircraft and maintenance data via computer systems and initiate on-line parts requests and discrepancy reports
  • Perform tasks involved in coordination, preparation, and movement of material and tools; operate riding-type electric powered elevating equipment as required to accomplish assignments
  • Assist and coordinate with other team members (Avionics, Structures, Electrical) to ensure cost and schedule targets are met
  • Ensure all equipment and tasks are performed in accordance with established safety and operating procedures
  • Apply Hazardous Energy control and Lock Out/Tag Out systems to ensure the work environment is safe for access and task performance
  • Maintain required certifications, licenses, and permits for assigned work and ensure currency of qualifications
  • Use precision measuring instruments and gauges to check dimensions and conformance to quality requirements
  • Work in confined spaces, ascend/descend vertical work ladders, and lift loads up to approximately 35 pounds as part of routine duties

Selected candidates must have completed their Hallmark University graduation requirements before their start date; employment will not begin prior to graduation.

This position requires the ability to pass an assessment during the training cycle which will determine final program/role placement.

This position MAY require the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance or higher for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Current Term 7 or 8 Hallmark University College of Aeronautics Student, OR have graduated in the last 6 Months
  • Ability to work variable shifts (i.e. scheduled and unscheduled overtime; weekends and holidays) to support mission requirements

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Prior Experience with hands‑on aircraft systems maintenance (flight controls, landing gear, or mechanical component removal/installation and troubleshooting) OR:
  • Prior Experience with structural repair (close‑tolerance drilling/reaming, shimming, sealing, and fastener installation) OR:
  • Prior Experience with electrical harness and wiring (connector terminations, routing, bonding/wrapping, and basic electrical troubleshooting) OR:
  • Prior Experience with precision measuring tools and specialized aircraft tooling (micrometers, dial indicators, torque wrenches, sheet metal brakes/shears)

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary Starting Pay Rate: $70,000 / $33.65 per hour

Additive Pay:  

$1.00/hourly for Airframe Certification

$1.00/hourly for Powerplant Certification
