Graduate Water Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a Graduate Water Engineer to join our team in the Greater Toronto Area.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Research, compile and evaluate project data.

  • Perform hydrology and hydraulic modelling with industry standard software tools (including but not limited to; Visual OTTHYMO, PCSWMM, InfoWorks and HEC-RAS).

  • Complete stormwater management and hydraulic design calculations, compile data summary tables, and create figures/drawings.

  • Support Class Environmental Assessments

  • Prepare technical reports, tender and contract documents, and permitting applications.

  • Assist with project coordination/management, including liaising between other discipline teams at TYLin and subconsultants.

  • Participate in proposal writing and project/task scope development. 

QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDING EDUCATION and/or JOB EXPERIENCE): 

  • Civil, Environmental or Water Resources Engineering Degree/Diploma

  • Eligible for future membership with PEO (P.Eng.)

  • Applicants with one to three years of experience in water resources engineering will be considered, however, new graduates with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.

  • Strong computer skills. Knowledge of specialized software (such as Visual OTTHYMO, HEC-RAS, PCSWMM, InfoWorks, ArcGIS, MicroStation, and AutoCAD Civil 3D) would be an asset.

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project).

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Municipal engineering and/or land development experience is a benefit, including knowledge of municipal, provincial, and federal regulations for water resources.
