Scope of role

The Linear Motion Division is a major contributor to the Segment, with approximately 1,500 global associates and $400M in revenue. There are 9 main sites located across the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, & Europe.

The Supply Chain Manager II, work with the supply chain leaders across the Linear Motion businesses to develop and drive the actions required for improving the materials and supplier management processes.  Ensure the teams meet internal quality, delivery, cost and inventory goals.  Key tasks will include improvement of plant supply chain improvements, replenishment methods, dynamic kanban, stocking programs, lead-time reduction initiatives, rationalization of the supply base, improving supplier payment terms, sourcing support, driving direct material savings (PPV), indirect spend and freight, in alignment with Supply chain corporate strategies. Also supporting Eng Teams with VAVE projects to realize material savings and plant wide OTD improvements and any other supply chain issues globally.

Supply Chain Manager II has advanced supply chain capabilities and multi-site responsibilities with 50% travel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Voice of customer driven, to support Customer OTD and Past due reduction from the supply chain perspective.
  • Drive process improvements that result in improved material flow throughout the factory, including kanban and inventory management practices.
  • Improve the supply base to support the plant performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost goals.
  • Have systems in place that can regularly review and rationalize supplier base to optimize spend.
  • In coordination with Supply chain corporate develop a savings (PPV, VAVE, Freight & MRO) funnel to support budgeted material productivity goals for all Thomson Sites
  • Closed follow up with site Sourcing / project managers on projects execution and support to remove barriers.
  • Develop Supply chain risk mitigation strategy for Thomson in coordination with Supply chain corporate strategies.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Education - Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, administration or area related.
  • Experience 5+ in ERP, MRP, Supply chain management, logistics and purchasing activities
  • Demonstrated experience with negotiating and sourcing.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing tools and application to Supply Chain Management processes.
  • Knowledge of ERP, MRP, expediting, master scheduling and purchasing.
  • Solid understanding of Engineering Drawings (blueprints) and BOM structures.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, other MS Office
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain good working relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement actions and deliver results.
  • Demonstrated effective large project management in a Supply Chain related activity

Flexible to travel 50% (current US VISA)
