As a Global HSE & Sustainability Business Partner, you will work across Baker Hughes’ global Flow Control & Safety Solutions operations to shape our Health, Safety, and Environment strategy. You will collaborate closely with operational leaders, integrating HSE into business decision-making, and driving a culture where safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement are at the core of how we work. You will also lead, coach, and mentor HSE professionals worldwide, developing future leaders and building a consistent standard of excellence across our organization.

As the HSE Program Leader, you will:

• Partner with operations, and functional leadership across multiple geographies to embed HSE into day-to-day decisions and long-term strategies and performance metrics.

• Lead global deployment of the Baker Hughes HSE Management System, ensuring compliance with ISO 14001/45001, sustainability frameworks and local regulations.

• Provide people leadership, coaching, and mentoring for HSE Specialists and Leads across the globe, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team culture.

• Drive change by applying Kaizen, Lean, and Root Cause Analysis methodologies to improve performance and accelerate corrective actions.

• Facilitate Learning Teams and apply Human Performance principles to turn incidents into organizational learning.

• Champion sustainability and decarbonization initiatives, supporting carbon reduction, resource efficiency, waste minimization, and circularity programs.

• Oversee global HSE performance monitoring, analyze trends, and influence executives with insights and recommendations.

• Provide leadership for risk assessments, audits, and contractor assurance, ensuring alignment with both Baker Hughes and customer standards.

• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, and ESG leaders to advance safety, decarbonization, and sustainability programs.
 

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • 10+ years of experience in HSE Leadership, and Global Program Management & Governance.
  • Proven experience in development and implementing global programs including project management.
  • Strong understanding of how to implement HSE risk-based governance and oversight of supplier evaluations, management and other related activities.  Including ability to review and critically evaluate integration of industry best practice and BKR requirements to effective global IET strategy.
  • Strong knowledge of international HSE regulations and Industry Best Practice networks.
  • Experience in managing or oversight of working within Contractor Management Platforms such as ISNetworld, Avetta, Veriforce.
  • Be skilled in Kaizen/Lean, Root Cause Analysis (5-why, ICAM, TapRoot) methodologies to improve performance and accelerate improvements
  • Experience and strong understanding of Waste Vendor management.
  • Demonstrable skills in Stakeholder Management and Managing Change at global scale including communicating about the program and expectations.
  • Experience in liaising and working directing with Supply Chain and in Approved Supplier Management.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Risk Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Strategic thinker with operational execution capability.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Project Management Training and/or related experience.

Desired qualifications/requirements

  • Demonstrable HSE certification such as NEBOSH, CSP, and/or ISO 45001 / 14001 Lead Auditor.
  • Experience in management of Waste Vendors or Brokers at regional or global level.
  • Experience with ESG, HSE governance & compliance frameworks.
  • Ability to lead and liaise with cross-cultural and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Have interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Have the ability to influence others.
  • Be an effective problem identification and solution skills.
  • Have proven analytical and organizational ability.
