The Global Hawk Field Service Support team is seeking an Engineer II, Services Engineer for Global Hawk’s Shelters team located at Grand Forks AFB, ND.  In this key role, you will support the Ground station and guide complex test operations, ensuring the successful planning, development, and execution of system tests. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in system engineering principles, software, and proven expertise in test processes and methodologies.

What You Will Do:

  • Conducting multidisciplinary research and collaborating with equipment designers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for fielded operational software.
  • Determining root causes of issues, developing, designing, and implementing solutions, or coordinating with customer and plant engineers to resolve these issues.
  • Interfacing customers to address short-term and long-term technical, operational, mission-related, and deployment requirements.
  • Determining end-user needs by analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems related to program intent, output requirements, and input data acquisition.
  • Ensuring that hardware and software standards are met.
  • Developing, changes coordinating, and implementing plans to achieve customer requirements.
  • Analyzing system performance against technical requirements.
  • Researching and making recommendations for hardware and software improvements.
  • Design and implementing LAN/WAN configurations to support site-specific customer requirements.
  • Resolving technical problems and issues according to product specifications and engineering data to recommend repair and sustainment of the Launch/Recovery Element (LRE).
  • Performing maintenance and upgrades, as well as troubleshooting problems.
  • Troubleshooting industry standard IT systems, as well as program-specific hardware, software, and procedures.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • 2 years’ experience as a system administrator or development/support in Linux, Solaris, Irix or another Unix environment
  • Experience performing complex troubleshooting and analysis to correct system discrepancies
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Requires short-term assignments to both CONUS and OCONUS locations for operational support.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in ATM LANs, long haul links, RF links, VOIP, and data communications.
  • Experience with UNIX general system administration.
  • Experience or familiarity with HVAC, UPS systems, diesel generators.
  • Familiarity with data transmission over RF and satellite links.
  • Familiarity with the Global Hawk Ground Segment systems.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
