The Role
We are looking for a Geotechnical Expert for our road and highways projects in Karachi, Pakistan. The role will be responsible for overseeing geotechnical investigations, analysis, and design inputs to ensure safe, economical, and technically sound solutions in line with project requirements and local standards.

  • Plan and supervise geotechnical investigations, including boreholes, test pits, and in-situ testing. Review soil and rock investigation reports and ensure accuracy of field and laboratory data.
  • Carry out and review geotechnical analysis for foundations, embankments, slopes, retaining structures, pavements, and ground improvement works in accordance with project specifications and relevant standards.
  • Prepare and review geotechnical design reports, provide recommendations, and support design teams with practical and cost-effective solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance during construction, review method statements, and address site-related geotechnical issues to ensure compliance and safety.
  • Identify geotechnical risks and propose mitigation measures to minimize potential impacts on project timelines and costs.

With a track record of achievement in a related role, you will have gained your experience in a consultancy environment and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.

Suitable applicants will have/be:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering with specialization in Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering for road and highways projects in Pakistan.
  • Strong understanding of local soil conditions, ground investigation techniques, and relevant design standards.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and site personnel.
