Lead Structural Engineer

Join STV as a Lead Structural Engineer to drive the design of resilient infrastructure. In this role, you will serve as the Technical Lead for major bridge projects. Drawing from your depth of knowledge, you will bridge the gap between complex analytical modeling and constructible site solutions.

Qualifications

  • Education: B.S. in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Licensure: Illinois Professional Engineer, P.E. required; S.E. highly preferred.
  • Experience: 10–15 years of experience in transportation-related structural design.
  • Skills
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, OpenBridge and advanced structural analysis software.
    • Deep familiarity with AASHTO LRFD, AREMA, and IDOT, CDOT standards.
    • Project or task management experience such as resource management, scheduling and cost management.
    • Experience with Illinois Department of Transportation, IDOT, Illinois Tollway, City of Chicago, local municipalities, and Class I Railroads is preferred.
    • Good oral and written communication skills

Essential Functions

  • Technical Design: Lead the design and analysis of complex steel and concrete structures using MIDAS, LARSA, or CSI Bridge.
  • Project Management: Serve as a Task Lead or Project Manager on mid-to-large scale bridge projects, managing scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous peer reviews and QA/QC checks on drawings, specifications, and calculations to ensure compliance with STV’s Quality Management System.
  • Mentorship: Guide mid-level and junior staff through complex design challenges, fostering a culture of technical excellence.

Compensation Range:

$146,678.11 - $167,632.13
