The opportunity
Hitachi Energy Transformer Business Unit in Greater China operates across 55 cities, employs over 1,900 staff, and manages 5 transformer manufacturing plants. More than 90% of its sales come from locally manufactured products. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of Transformers Products, Solutions and Services. Transformers are essential in all electricity-related fields and applications, including power generation, transmission and distribution, oil, chemical and gas, industrial manufacturing, semiconductor and data centers, as well as building and transportation sectors.

How you’ll make an impact
You will execute the sales strategy and business development initiatives and identify challenges and implement proactive measures to achieve the sales target/company budget for the assigned business segment(s).
You will establish optimal pricing strategies to achieve sales targets, prepare and deliver technical and commercial proposals for tender opportunities in the assigned business segments(s), and participate in negotiations with customers.
You will develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers key decision-makers, and external stakeholders for the assigned business segment(s), and ensure effective communication with them.
You will research and analyze market trends and conditions including those of competitors to identify growth opportunities and business risks and provide market insights for strategies development for the assigned segment(s).
You will communicate with internal stakeholders including regional counterparts, supply factories, engineering, project management, order handling, and finance teams at different stages of projects life cycle.
You will prepare insightful reports and presentations for management team and manage sales administration tasks including data entries on the company’s internal information platform.
You will be responsible for ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background
You hold a bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, business administration or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales or business development in the electric power industry, experience in manufacturing industries is an asset.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and developing successful sales plans within a competitive environment.
Strong team players and ability to work effectively with different internal/external stakeholders.
A certain level of understanding on electric power industries’ products, and electric power market dynamics in Japan, with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Intermediate level of English proficiency. Japanese language is a must.
