General Manager – JLL

What this job involves:

The General Manager provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the shopping centre, driving strong tenant performance, an exceptional customer experience, and consistent financial results. You will be accountable for maximizing asset value through disciplined operations, effective team leadership, and a proactive, client-focused approach. This role offers the opportunity to shape the property's future while serving as a trusted advisor to ownership and a champion for operational excellence.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Lead day-to-day operations of the shopping centre, ensuring the property is maintained to the highest standards for safety, cleanliness, and operational excellence

  • Build, lead, and develop the on-site team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence

  • Anticipate client needs and act as a trusted advisor, providing timely insights and operational recommendations

  • Demonstrate financial management expertise, including preparation and oversight of operating budgets, revenues, and expenditures to ensure alignment with ownership objectives

  • Lead the development and implementation of the property's strategic plan, working collaboratively with leasing, marketing, and operations teams to drive long-term value, operational excellence, and tenant success

  • Monitor market trends and competitive positioning, identifying opportunities to enhance the property's performance and customer experience

  • Actively liaise with the real estate industry and community at large; engage with local business communities, various organizations operating in the real estate sector, and government stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience in a similar retail or commercial property management role

  • University degree, preferably in Business Administration, Real Estate, or a related field

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and guide teams toward achieving strategic objectives

  • Client-focused mindset with demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with tenants, ownership, and stakeholders

  • Proven track record in managing large-scale projects

  • Strong negotiation, organizational, prioritization, and time management skills

  • Availability to work outside of regular business hours

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives and responsible property management practices

  • Ability to present and convey ideas and concepts to various levels of audiences effectively

Estimated compensation for this position:

138,000.00 – 155,000.00 CAD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
