Job Title: Legal & Compliance – General Counsel, Blackstone Global Capability Center


Job Description:


A. Position Overview:
Reporting to Blackstone’s Deputy Chief Legal Officer, International (based in Hong Kong) and serving as a trusted partner to senior leadership of Blackstone’s Global Capability Center (“GCC”), we are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to assist in initially designing, and then to serve as the General Counsel of, the GCC. The role encompasses General Counsel oversight of all of the activities of the GCC and its employees in supporting all of Blackstone’s global operations. The GCC will oversee high-volume activities, the volume and complexity of which is very much expected to increase as capabilities ramp up quickly following launch of the GCC.

B. Key Responsibilities:
• As a member of the Blackstone Legal & Compliance team of ~300 professionals globally, lead the legal support for the GCC, a key strategic element of Blackstone’s operating model to meet ever-increasing scale and complexity
• Actively participate in the ramp up of the GCC and numerous commercial and legal considerations surrounding its growth, positioning, and risk management.
• Design, implement and oversee governance protocols, policies, and procedures to ensure the GCC operates in accordance with Blackstone’s best in class approach to compliance and governance.
• Provide General Counsel legal advice and support to all senior GCC stakeholders, including in relation to HR and tax matters in particular.
• Function as a key liaison between the GCC and Blackstone in ensuring that Blackstone’s global approach to risk management is well understood and implemented at the GCC.

C. Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have:
• 10+ years of legal experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
• Familiarity with global regulatory frameworks and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.
• Global experience is desirable; an international outlook is required.
