Job Summary
To manage the governance, oversight, and reporting components of the Business Banking Fraud Risk function. This role ensures robust governance structures, high-quality reporting, and effective coordination of fraud risk management activities across digital, lending, payments, merchant, and card portfolios. Supports the implementation of the fraud risk strategy, strengthens risk oversight practices, and provides management information (MI) and insights to drive informed decision-making at senior levels.Job Description
Key Accountabilities
Fraud Governance & Framework Oversight
Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Fraud Risk Management Framework (FRMF) across Business Banking.
Coordinate governance processes including fraud risk committees, working groups, and control forums.
Ensure alignment of business banking fraud management with enterprise fraud and financial crime policies.
Maintain fraud risk registers, ensuring accurate documentation of key risks, controls, and mitigations.
Monitor compliance with internal fraud risk standards and regulatory requirements.
Reporting & Management Information (MI)
Develop, maintain, and deliver fraud MI dashboards and executive reports covering fraud trends, losses, KRIs, and control performance.
Consolidate and analyse fraud data across lending, payments, and merchant portfolios to identify emerging risks.
Produce fraud insights and thematic reviews to support strategic decision-making by senior management.
Manage the fraud loss reporting process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency across business units.
Support automation and enhancement of MI and reporting processes using data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
Risk Appetite, Metrics & Performance Monitoring
Support the definition and tracking of fraud risk appetite metrics, KRIs, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Monitor performance against set thresholds and escalate breaches or trends of concern.
Contribute to the quarterly and annual fraud risk assessment (FRA) cycles, ensuring risks are appropriately captured and evaluated.
Provide data-driven insights to inform fraud control design and strategic priorities.
Policy & Compliance Management
Maintain up-to-date documentation of fraud risk policies, standards, and procedures for Business Banking.
Support policy reviews, approvals, and dissemination across the business.
Ensure audit and regulatory recommendations are tracked and implemented on time.
Assist with regulatory submissions and responses related to fraud reporting and inquiries.
Coordination & Oversight
Coordinate inputs for fraud governance forums, ensuring timely submission of packs, commentary, and data.
Track and follow up on management actions arising from governance forums and audit findings.
Ensure fraud risk oversight across new product approvals, process changes, and transformation projects.
Act as a control point for quality assurance of fraud MI and governance documentation.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Partner with Product, Credit, Operations, Compliance, and Group Risk teams to ensure strong governance alignment.
Provide actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders on emerging fraud risks.
Support internal and external fraud reporting obligations (e.g., regulatory, industry bodies).
Promote a consistent and transparent fraud risk culture through communication and engagement initiatives.
Preferred Education
Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics or related discipline.
CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) advantageous
Preferred Experience
5–7 years’ experience in fraud risk management, governance, risk reporting, or financial crime risk within banking or financial services.
Strong understanding of fraud risk frameworks, governance structures, and fraud typologies within business banking.
Experience preparing MI and reporting packs for executive and board-level committees.
Skilled in data analysis, trend identification, and performance monitoring.
Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools (Power BI, or similar).
Understanding of regulatory expectations for fraud risk reporting and governance

Education
