Accountant - Buenos Aires, Argentina

Role Responsibilities

  • We’ll be looking to you to compile, sort, and verify documents to support accounting functions for Argentina.
  • You will peer support for business processes, comply with business key performance indicators, assertively communicate, and properly handle escalations with peers, management, and stakeholders.
  • You will be responsible for the account reconciliation process and retention of proper documentation, comply with internal policies and international accounting standards.
  • We’ll be looking to you to support the training of processes related to the Business with other team members and actively participate in process improvement initiatives.
  • Support monthly and quarterly closing activities, ensuring accurate journal entries, timely reporting, and adherence to global accounting calendars.
  •  Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to provide financial insights, support audits, and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.

Role Requirements

  • Graduated in accounting or soon to be graduated.
  • Attention to detail and assertive communication.
  • Sense of urgency and problem solving.
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience.
  • 2 - 4 years financial accounting experience.
  • NIIF and IFRS knowledge (desirable).
  • Monday to Friday from 9 to 6pm.
  • Availability to work on Argentine national holidays.
  • Willingness to work extended hours based on operational needs.
  • Intermediate English level -B2- (exclusive)
  • Intermediate / advanced Excel.
  • Oracle system knowledge (desirable).

Work Shift

Western Union values in-person collaboration, problem solving, and ideation whenever possible. We believe this fosters common ways of working and supports how we execute initiatives for our customers. The expectation is to work from the office a minimum of three days a week.
