Work Schedule: Full time 

Compensation:  $114,250-120,986.93/ annually (Tessera's compensation strategy is to position new employees between the minimum and midpoint of this range, depending on qualifications and experience.)

Tessera is seeking a Fleet Manager to oversee the operation, maintenance, and readiness of HMMWVs and Lenco BearCat armored vehicles. The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and readiness of High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs) and Lenco BearCat armored vehicles. This role manages fleet logistics, scheduling, and compliance with safety protocols while ensuring vehicles remain fully mission ready.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:  

  • Researching and selecting the most appropriate HMMWV and BearCat models for specific missions and requirements, considering factors like fuel efficiency, safety standards, and operational needs.  

  • Developing and overseeing comprehensive preventative maintenance programs, scheduling routine servicing, and coordinating repairs to minimize downtime and extend vehicle lifespan. This includes utilizing the appropriate HMMWV technical manuals for maintenance schedules and procedures  

  • Developing strategies for disposing of outdated or damaged vehicles and managing the acquisition of replacements.  

  • Ensuring that all personnel operating HMMWVs and Bearcats are properly trained, qualified, and licensed to operate these vehicles safely and effectively. This would likely include specialized training for operating armored vehicles and navigating various terrains.  

  • Monitoring driver performance and adherence to safety regulations and operational procedures.  

  • Developing efficient schedules and routes for vehicle deployment based on mission requirements.  

  • Analyzing fleet performance data, reporting to upper management on fleet status, and making recommendations for improvement. 

 

Qualifications:   

  • Associate's degree in related field.  

  • 5-8 years of experience in Transportation/Fleet  

  • A combination of previous experience and education will be considered. 

  • Experience in fleet management, logistics, or vehicle maintenance. 

  • Leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and train a team effectively.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 

  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties. 

  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required 

  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
