Responsible for managing and executing First Article Inspection (FAI) projects in accordance with AS9102 requirements. This role ensures compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal quality standards across multiple product lines. The incumbent will coordinate cross-functional activities, provide leadership in FAI planning and execution, and drive continuous improvement within the FAI process to enhance operational performance.

What You Will Do:

• Lead and manage the end-to-end FAI process in compliance with AS9102 and internal procedures.

• Develop and maintain FAI project plans, schedules, and deliverables, ensuring timely and accurate submission to customers and regulatory bodies.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure FAI documentation integrity and configuration control.

• Identify and mitigate risks related to FAI planning and execution; proactively resolve technical or documentation issues.

• Analyze FAI results and drive corrective and preventive actions to improve quality and process capability.

• Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) on AS9102 requirements, providing training, coaching, and guidance to quality personnel.

• Participate in process improvement initiatives to optimize FAI workflows, reduce cycle time, and improve compliance.

• Interface directly with customers, auditors, and suppliers regarding FAI deliverables and status updates.

• Ensure accurate and compliant documentation in electronic systems and databases.

• Lead team of Quality Assurance Technicians.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

• Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, and specifications.

• Experience using quality management systems, PLM, and ERP tools (e.g., SAP, Teamcenter, Net-Inspect).

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Strong understanding of AS9102 standard, configuration management, and document control.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision.

• Project Management or Six Sigma certification is a plus.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
