SUMMARY
This is technical and administrative work maintaining property control and inventory of supplies, materials, uniforms, and equipment; assuring all EMS/Fire equipment is operational.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Prepares budget for supplies and equipment; provides accurate estimates; monitors expenditures; and applies cost saving techniques.
Coordinates maintenance schedule relating to the general repair and maintenance of firefighting equipment. Inspects equipment and orders maintenance and repairs as needed.
Establishes and maintains vendor relationships and serve as departmental liaison.
Creates bid specifications for large scale purchases of personal protection equipment (PPE) and firefighting equipment.
Maintains property control and inventory records of firefighting and EMS equipment, supplies, materials, uniforms, turnout gear etc.; inputs data in inventory database; assists with annual department-wide inventory upkeep and reporting.
Coordinates annual testing of safety equipment, enters data and maintains records for self-contained breathing apparatuses (SCBA), ladders, fire pumps, fire hose, radios, electrical gloves, hot sticks, etc.
Coordinates the purchase and distribution of uniforms, firefighting equipment, PPE, materials and supplies, etc.
Coordinates and maintains records of annual cleaning and maintenance for floor cleaning, ice machines, bay doors, radios, etc.
Prepares records, reports, and summaries on the status of inventory control, equipment testing and repair.
Provides logistical support during emergency incidents and is available for emergency callback.
Attends work on a continuous and regular basis.
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. Below are the required education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma;supplemented by college level courses in general business and inventory control, three (3) years progressively responsible experience in inventory control and one (1) year experience of logistical support.
Experience in Fire and Emergency services or similar public safety field preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS OR LICENSES
Licenses
Valid Florida Driver License.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of business math.
Knowledge of inventory control methods and storekeeping.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, such as, Outlook, Word and Excel.
Ability to accurately enter data into the computer.
Knowledge of mechanics.
Knowledge of care and maintenance of firefighting tools and equipment.
Knowledge of facility care and maintenance.
Ability to prepare reports.
Ability to keep good records.
Ability to work effectively with others.
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess certain physical abilities and be able to withstand work related environmental conditions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work requires physical strength and agility sufficient to safely perform all essential job functions, including standing, kneeling, and stooping.
May occasionally crawl, stand, walk, sit, listen, talk, use hands, drive, bend, climb, squat, push/pull while seated or standing, and reach above shoulder level.
Work requires medium to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to sit for prolonged periods of time.
Work may require operating fire apparatus, forklifts, trucks and other associated equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work may require performance of tasks outdoors under varying climatic conditions and walking on uneven terrain during field inspections.
Work requires transport of materials and supplies outdoors under various climatic conditions.
