Job Summary
We are seeking a self-motivated and passionate Intermediate Fire Protection Engineer who is eager to grow their technical expertise and contribute to high-performance, meaningful building projects. In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior engineers nationally and multidisciplinary project teams to support the design, coordination, and delivery of fire protection systems across a wide range of building types.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and documentation of fire protection systems for a variety of building and infrastructure projects (e.g., healthcare, commercial, sports, aviation, labs).
- Fire services design and analysis in accordance with regulatory standards
- Support senior engineers in developing design calculations, system layouts, technical specifications, and project deliverables.
- Participate in coordination with other engineering disciplines, architects, and external consultants to support integrated and efficient project outcomes.
- Contribute to technical reviews, regulatory compliance checks, and the application of relevant building codes and standards
- Attend site visits to observe installations, collect data, and support construction-phase queries under the direction of senior staff.
- Assist in preparing project documentation, reports, correspondence, and presentation materials.
- Attending project coordination meetings
- Continue developing technical and professional skills with support from the team, including training, mentorship, and structured learning opportunities.
What You Bring
- 3–5 years of Australian experience in fire protection engineering
- Bachelor’s engineering degree or equivalent, recognized by Engineers Australia
- Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings, with increasing independence.
- Familiarity with building codes and standards relevant to fire protection systems (experience in Australian standards is required).
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Proficiency with latest technology – REVIT/AutoCAD, BIM360, HYENA,
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- High level organizational, coordination and prioritization skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Proactive approach to developing skills and knowledge in fire protection design
