ERM are hiring for a Financial Controller to oversee and manage the ANZ financial accounting and transactional teams.
The role will include the following:
Staff management
Lead, support and manage a team of 17 staff (6 direct) across Financial Accounting, Payroll, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
Weekly meetings with key staff.
Provide guidance to staff on the day-to-day and any new processes.
Co-ordinate team to meet monthly and annual deadlines across all functions in the team.
Payroll
Review payroll year-end submission with the payroll team.
Co-ordinate payroll preparation timing to line up with month end reporting.
Ensure payroll processing and payments deadlines are met.
Stakeholder engagement
Provide financial information to the business as required for tender submissions.
Provide sensitive information to HR as needed.
Financial and statutory reporting
Flash reporting – Maintain the consolidated reporting file for the ANZ business with accurate information and updates.
General ledger balance sheet reconciliation review.
Compliance – ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Audit – coordinate the annual statutory audit, liaising with the external auditors, ensure provision of timely and accurate audit schedules and documentation as required.
Financial statement review and support.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all statutory obligations (tax and financial reporting), as well as internal process (monthly management reporting, payroll, etc)
Analysis
Provide information to the Finance Director on P&L and balance sheet movements.
Provide support to the Finance Director and Management Accountant with transaction detail to assist with budgets and forecasts.
Other
HSBC administration – set up, amendments and organising approvals.
HSBC KYC submissions as required.
HSBC payment approvals (Accounts Payable, payroll and adhoc).
ERM Foundation company secretarial duties.
ERM Foundation financial statements, co-ordinate audit review and ACNC submission within deadline.
Organise bank guarantees as needed, in line with ERM processes and approvals.
Respond to business queries promptly and accurately.
Business rationalisation duties as required.
Provision of financial information for tenders and proposal support.
Ad-hoc tasks as required.
Education/Training/Qualifications
CPA or CA qualification is required.
Staff management experience essential, experience with offshore staff management will be an advantage.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior role within a Finance organisation.
Sound knowledge of IFRS and Australian accounting standards and regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
Strong time-management skills and ability to deal with changing demands.
Ownership of the full function and recognising when to escalate issues.
