Financial Accountant

Job Description

To report on the Financial Performance of Group Finance. We are looking for a Chartered Accountant registered with SAICA.

• Responsible for group financial reporting, consolidation, and regulatory submissions across the FirstRand Operation entity included in Group Finance.  
• Prepare accurate flash and monthly reporting, including the preparation of consolidation and elimination entries.
• Prepare forecasts and budgets and manage and report on budget usage that reflects delivery of planned work within agreed parameters.
• Provide detailed analysis and commentary to senior management and the CFO on monthly, quarterly, interim and year end results.
• Prepare monthly journals, equity-accounted earnings and consolidation packs.
• Performing internal financial control reviews, and process documentation.
• Prepare interim and annual financial statements.
• Provide technical accounting and problem-solving support to group entities.
• Participate in planned activities that are appropriate for own development
• Provide high level reviews of other group entities that are consolidated.
• Develop, encourage and nurture collaborative relationships across area of specialisation.
• Display and encourage an appreciation of teamwork and inclusivity
• Comply with relevant statutory, legislative, policy and governance requirements and adhere to processes and procedures related to area of specialisation.
• Optimise work through the application of learning experiences.
• Build and maintain stakeholder relationships.
• Deliver customer service through adherence to quality service standards
