The Finance Manager will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting across ADEY’s UK, French, and North American divisions. This is a key position within ADEY’s Finance team, offering the opportunity to work across multiple international entities and contribute to the ongoing development of the finance function.
It plays a major role in month‑end close, statutory compliance, and supporting leadership with high‑quality financial insight. The position also oversees a small finance team and contributes to continuous improvement across the department.
The role is based at ADEY’s Gloucester office and reports directly to the Financial Controller.
Responsibilities:
We Work Together
Manage and support a team of Accounts Assistants across Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, and Cashbook functions.
Produce financial reports and analysis for senior leadership and wider business stakeholders.
Build strong working relationships across the wider business, ensuring clear and effective communication.
Participate in company‑wide projects aligned with Group strategic objectives.
We Take Ownership
Financial Reporting & Month-End
Prepare monthly Management Accounts for the UK, French, and North American entities.
Ensure timely upload of month‑end results into the OneStream consolidation system.
Complete month‑end Balance Sheet reconciliations to a high standard.
Payroll & Compliance
Coordinate payroll for non‑UK employees.
Work closely with external accountants in France and the USA to support year‑end Financial Statements, audits, Intrastat submissions, and VAT filings.
Liaise with UK and French auditors, providing responses to audit queries and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
Purchase Control
Oversee the 3rd‑party Purchase Control system, ensuring access rights and approval limits align with the Group Delegation of Authority matrix.
Stock & Inventory
Actively participate in mid‑year and year‑end stock takes, ensuring accurate reporting and controls.
The Person:
Experience of working at Managerial level
Understanding and knowledge of accounting in a manufacturing business
Experience of working in a plc organisation would be advantageous
Desirable to have experience of working in a matrix organisation
Driven and motivated to deliver
Advanced excel & business systems experience.
Diligent about hitting all deadlines and adaptability to turnaround urgent requests.
Ability to communicate financial information to a wide range of audiences.
Qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA or working towards qualification.
