  We are looking for a Field Services Technician to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies.  This role will report to the Field Services Manager and based onsite at client in NJ.  This is a fully on-site role 5 days a week.

Job Description: Field Service Technician

Bloom Energy, a solid oxide fuel cell company, is looking for a Field Service Technician to join its world- class team.  This individual should be a dynamic professional who is looking for a rewarding future in one of today’s most exciting technologies.

Location: Field Office in NJ

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide fuel cell service during shift at primary site.
  • Operate a service vehicle safely
  • Create daily workflows for oneself from a list of scheduled tasks (regularly assigned to work autonomously)
  • Manage on-site preventative maintenance, repair, test, and diagnostic tasks
  • Follow company procedures and protocols
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine/implement proper solutions
  • Cooperate with a technical team and share information across the organization
  • Comprehend and follow customer access requirements
  • Maintain service vehicle and spare part inventory
  • Maintain/build positive relationships with customers
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports as required
  • Complete daily administrative duties such as closing service appointment and debriefing parts.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25% to support company needs for additional projects.
  • Open to working a Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday schedule.
  • Once qualified support on-call rotation site support.

Education and Experience:

The following MINIMUM levels of experience and or education are required:

  • High school diploma & 6 years’ experience in electrical, process controls, or electro-mechanical fields;
    - Or –
  • Technical diploma, Journeymen Certification, Electrician Certification in a technical field and relevant industry experience of 4 years (electrician, electronics technician, field service, technician, test engineer, etc.)
    - Or –
  • 5 years or more relevant experience in commercial electrical, combined with electrical-related military experience (e.g. Navy Nuclear Electronics/Electrical Technician, or other technical position, military certified electrician or technician, Gas Turbine Electrician)

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong electrical troubleshooting/diagnostic skills required.
  • Familiar with safety standards, especially those related to electrical work (OSHA & NFPA 70E).
  • Prior experience as an electrician or electrical technician working with any of the following technologies: three-phase systems, uninterruptible power supplies, electrical generation and distribution systems, power electronics, automatic transfer switches, and microprocessor-based control platforms.
  • Experience with various electrical/electronic test and measurement equipment.
  • Able to read and interpret electrical single line diagrams and blueprints.
  • Experience with performing equipment maintenance in accordance with ANSI/NETA standards for Electrical Power.
  • Mechanical system aptitude, to include troubleshooting/repair skills.
  • Highly motivated and able to work autonomously.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment in the resolution of complex problems.
  • Team player who exhibits a high level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Communicates written and verbal English effectively.
  • Comfortable with working from elevated heights up to 20ft in the air.
  • Able to execute against written and verbal procedures and sequenced work instructions.
  • Able to regularly handle equipment up to 50lbs., occasionally may lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Able to reach, squat, bend, and twist during the workday.
  • Able to use a ladder or stepstool regularly.
  • Able to facilitate 24X7 on-call duty.
  • Able to facilitate shift work as needed.
  • Able to regularly support overtime to achieve quarterly goals.
  • Able to travel up to 25%.
  • Nice to have if prior experience with electromechanical components​

FULL TIME ROLE ONLY: The total compensation for this position includes standard company benefits and is based on various factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience. 

Salary Ranges:

$28.02 - $40.32
