located in Ontario region

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career.

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As an EMD Sales Professional, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Driving profitable sales for the EMD business in the assigned territory of Ontario
  • Developing, implementing, and executing effective territory business plans
  • Prioritizing your end customers, markets, and distributors to drive effective territory management
  • Implementing promotions, and directives as set by division management
  • Collaborating across other territories and within other 3M Divisions to meet customer needs
  • Serving as a knowledge broker through delivering training and education to ensure customers and end users maximize product effectiveness

Company Vehicle

This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Five (5) years of direct sales AND/OR electrical construction/industrial experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Current, valid driver’s license is required, as you will be issued a company vehicle for this position

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Sales experience in the Electrical Construction and Electrical Industrial Markets
  • Technical background – electrical or mechanical engineering an asset
  • Aptitude to understand and train customers on multiple product lines and applications
  • Field/Channel sales experience
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to all levels
  • Ability to qualify and prioritize sales opportunities within their assigned territory
  • Experience working in a matrix environment or large complex organization
  • Strong negotiation and relationship building skills
  • Effective pipeline management
  • Strong computer skills, database management: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Salesforce.com

Work Location

  • Remote based location within the assigned territory
  • Travel: May include up to 75% domestic travel within the territory

Relocation Assistance:  May be authorized.

 

The expected compensation range for this position is $137,756 -$168,368, which includes base pay and variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
