Your challenges

1. Data Cleanup & Basic Analysis

  • Perform simple data-cleaning tasks in Excel (e.g., updating contact info, removing duplicates, organizing product/service categories).

  • Conduct basic descriptive analysis (e.g., product hit rate, best seller, sales trend analysis, customer segments growth trend) to support business visibility.

  • Provide a short insights summary based on findings.

2. Market Pricing Evaluation of Similar Products

  • Conduct online research of equivalent products offered by competitors (online catalog, distributor listings, marketplace pages etc).

  • Organize findings into a comparison sheet (price ranges, product features, brand positioning).

  • Identify pricing gaps, premium-positioned products, or potential opportunities for competitive adjustment.

  • Present a short report or slide summary on findings.

3. Digital Marketing Support

  • Help prepare a LinkedIn post, product information update, or content draft for an EDM.

  • Support content preparation for events or product highlight campaigns.

  • Track simple engagement metrics after posting (if applicable)

4. Market & Competitor Scan

  • Competitor Product & Digital Presence Scan

    • Review how competitors present similar instruments online (navigation, technical details, service offerings).

    • Summarize strengths, weaknesses, and digital positioning.

  • Market Sponsorship & Events Calendar Tracking

    • Research upcoming scientific conferences, laboratory expos, STEM education events, and industry webinars where vendors typically participate.

    • Compile a Market Events & Sponsorship Calendar listing:

      • Event name

      • Date & location

      • Event type (expo, seminar, training series, online webinar)

      • Sponsorship tiers (if publicly listed)

      • Competitors known to attend

  • Marketing Ideas Inspired by Competitor Event Participation

    • Identify how competitors leverage events (booth themes, demonstrations, campaign tie-ins, giveaways, educational talks).

    • Propose 2–3 actionable marketing ideas relevant to the company’s scientific instrument portfolio, such as:

      • Product demo themes aligned with trending lab technologies

      • Digital follow-up strategies post-event (QR codes, landing pages)

      • Co-branded mini‑workshops with academic partners

      • Content ideas inspired by competitor event positioning

    • Deliver findings in a short summary deck.

  • Research Grant Tracking & Data Updates

    • Conduct online research to gather the latest information on awarded research grants from relevant Singapore government agencies, research councils, universities, and funding bodies (e.g., A*STAR, NRF, MOE Tier funding, Agency-linked research centers, etc.).

    • Update the existing grant-tracking file with new awards, including:

      • Grant title

      • Principal investigator (PI)

      • Institution / research centre

      • Funding amount (if publicly stated)

      • Research focus area / domain

      • Grant duration & start date

    • Review each awarded grant’s scope to determine relevance to the company’s product offerings
