As a Field Engineer, you are ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality execution of field operations across Production Solutions projects. You are supporting service delivery by preparing engineering documentation, coordinating equipment readiness, and working directly with customers and field teams to meet operational and commercial requirements. You are contributing to continuous improvement by maintaining compliance with safety standards, supporting equipment maintenance, and ensuring accurate reporting and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
As a Field Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Ensuring all project‑related activities under your control are being carried out in accordance with the Baker Hughes Quality Management System
Actively ensuring your own health and safety and preserving the safety of all personnel during travel and at the job site
Ensuring full awareness of and compliance with all relevant Company and customer Safety Handbooks, procedures, and emergency protocols
Working in the field as an Equipment Operator when required, assisting Service Supervisors and learning equipment operation, parameters, and procedures
Participating in all PPS service line field operations and contributing to successful job execution
Participating in handover meetings with the Sales team to ensure technical and commercial requirements are fully understood before job execution
Preparing procedures, quality plans, safety plans, procurement plans, and other project‑related engineering documents
Attending technical training courses as required
Liaising with clients to ensure job specifications are understood, delivery schedules are met, and all questions are followed up professionally
Generating detailed equipment lists and ensuring all items are accounted for prior to mobilization
Preparing and compiling job‑pack documentation and certification in accordance with Baker Hughes and client requirements
Conducting pre‑mobilization equipment checks to ensure all equipment is functioning properly and ready for operations
Preparing, mobilizing, and demobilizing all necessary equipment required for field operations
Liaising with department supervisors on equipment maintenance and participating in maintenance and function testing
Compiling and submitting site technical and commercial documentation, ensuring all paperwork is signed off and filed correctly
Compiling final reports and documentation in accordance with Company and client requirements
Liaising with workshop and stores supervisors regarding demobilization and off‑hiring of equipment
Carrying out additional tasks as directed by Senior Project Engineers, Operations Coordinators, Workshop Supervisors, Service Supervisors, or the Operations Manager
Traveling frequently, with approximately 75% of the role involving field work
To be successful in this role you will:
Have experience working in field operations within oil and gas or industrial service environments
Have strong understanding of safety procedures, equipment operation, and field service processes
Have the ability to manage documentation, equipment readiness, and customer communication effectively
Have the flexibility and willingness to travel extensively and work in field environments
