Location: The University is located in historic Kingsville, a friendly, safe city of 25,000 that is the home of the legendary King Ranch. Corpus Christi and its beaches are just 40 miles to the northeast, and the border with Mexico is 120 miles to the south at Brownsville or 119 miles to the west at Laredo.

The Farm Aide, under supervision, assists with livestock care, maintenance of farm equipment, and general property maintenance. Operates farm machinery and cuts and rakes grass around farm buildings and pastures.
Livestock Care
Feed, water, and monitor livestock.
Check fencing, water troughs, and pastures for safety and functionality.
Move animals between pens, pastures, or trailers as needed.
Assists in treating the livestock for either disease contraction or prevention.
May assist with calving, branding, vaccinations, and routine animal health care.
Farm Maintenance
Maintain fences, gates, barns, and other structures.
Operate and maintain farm equipment such as tractors, UTVs, mowers, sprayers, and basic tools.
Perform irrigation tasks, check wells, pumps, and water lines.
Cuts, rakes, and bales hay. Mows farm roadside areas.
Participates in the repair of farm machines, equipment, and vehicles.
General
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of barns, pens, equipment areas, and property grounds.
Follow safety procedures and guidelines at all times.
Assist with special projects such as building improvements, land management, or seasonal tasks.

Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.

No prior experience required.

Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
Prior farm or ranch experience.
Physical Requirements
Ability to exert heavy force.
Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform demanding work in various weather conditions.

A federal proclamation issued on September 19, 2025, imposes a $100,000 fee on new H-1B petitions filed after September 21, 2025. Texas A&M University-Kingsville will not pay this fee.
