As an Exercise Planner, you’ll bring your leadership, strategic, operational, Marine Corps Planning Process (MCPP), and exercise lifecycle (ELC) expertise to support the client’s exercise planning, providing continuity for participation in major 2-, 3-, and 4-star service, joint, and combined exercises. You will use your skills and expertise to research, develop, analyze, assess, plan, and support client exercise planning, providing continuity, expertise, and dedicated focus to enhance their capacity to conduct high-quality planning for major exercises, including Cold Response, Navy Large Scale Exercise, and Distributed Aviation Operations exercises.

You will effectively manage planning and coordination requirements for all assigned exercises. You will develop and execute detailed exercise plans of actions and milestones (POA&Ms), identify required resources, provide mitigation recommendations for resource shortfalls, deliver status updates, brief senior leaders, lead operational planning teams (OPTs) or working groups (WGs), develop exercise briefs and other information products, and transition plans to major subordinate elements. You’ll forecast, coordinate, and synchronize exercise planning requirements with resource requirements via SharePoint, Teams, and other systems.

You Have:  

  • 5+ years of experience in USMC or DoD future operations and exercise planning, including wargames and exercises and developing military orders, concepts of operations, POA&Ms, and operational plans

  • Experience on a Marine Corps General Officer Staff

  • Experience with the Marine Corps Planning Process, Joint Planning Process, or Navy Planning Process and the DoD, Service, MEF, and command-level policies, plans, procedures, actions, and milestones necessary for efficient planning, development, and analyses of major exercises

  • Experience working closely with exercise action officers, coordinating across staff functions and command echelons, and providing support to ELC event planning efforts

  • Knowledge of Marine Corps Aviation operations and functions

  • Ability to brief senior-level customers, including general and flag officers

  • Ability to present and effectively advocate client equities at planning conferences, OPTs, and WGs

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:  

  • Experience with USMC or DoD aviation

  • Master's degree

  • Graduate of School of Advanced Warfighting (SAW), Army School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS), or Joint or Service equivalent

  • Completion of Joint Professional Military Education Phase 1 and 2

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
