The Executive, Financial Aid assesses student’s financial circumstances and offers corresponding financial aid assistance. We are looking for a candidate who is highly passionate about helping our students with their financial aid matters. The incumbent will provide financial counselling/recommendation of appropriate financial aid schemes based on students’ needs and follow through the application and offer processes to ensure the students receive the eligible assistance.
Key responsibilities:
- Main contact person for loans and travel award portfolio.
- Administer and coordinate financial aid activities, including managing timelines and disseminating updates via circulars in collaboration with relevant departments.
- Maintain and regularly update the financial aid website, SOP and knowledge articles with accurate and current information.
- Review and evaluate submitted financial aid documentation, ensuring prompt follow-up on missing or incomplete submissions.
- Process and assess applications for financial aid schemes, including selection and award decisions.
- Respond to enquiries related to financial aid schemes and bursaries through email and phone channels.
- Provide financial counselling and recommend suitable financial schemes based on an assessment of students’ financial needs.
- Support coordination of donor bursary interviews and related activities.
- Assist in student outreach initiatives, including participation in events such as NTU Open House.
- Update relevant web content and ensure the accuracy of published financial aid information.
- Undertake other ad hoc tasks and projects as assigned by the manager.
- Lead 1 or 2 portfolio, project or improvement initiative(s) within financial aid.
Requirements
- Minimum Diploma qualification is preferred.
- At least three years of relevant working experience, preferably in administration, finance, financial aid/bursary administration, or a customer-facing environment.
- Prior experience in financial aid or bursary-related work will be an advantage.
- Strong customer-centric mindset with a service-oriented approach.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Meticulous and well-organised, with proven ability to prioritise and manage workload effectively to meet deadlines.
- A strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively across functions.
- Professional and personable, with the ability to interact confidently and appropriately in face-to-face and telephone engagements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, propose and carry out process improvements.
- Accountable, proactive, and able to take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
