We have an exciting opportunity to join the European Consumer Staples equity research team. You will have primary coverage across several companies in Food/ Household & Personal Care

(HPC) and will be supporting senior analysts including on any banking related activity. In equity research you will have responsibility for the stock recommendations and research output as well as managing internal and external stakeholders. You will be the key point of contact for multiple stakeholders and will develop client relationships. There are likely to be multiple opportunities for travel over time related to both coverage and client marketing.

The team has responsibility for equity research coverage of the listed European Consumer Staples sector. The analysts are responsible for analysing company, sector and macro trends and forming an investment recommendation on the listed equities for Deutsche Bank’s institutional clients. You will also work with coverage bankers and other stakeholders within DB where appropriate. Our institutional clients are global long only and hedge fund investors.

Your key responsibilities

  • Analyse the industry and companies under coverage
  • Detailed financial modelling and data analysis
  • Provide expert advice to institutional asset managers and internal stakeholders including institutional sales & trading and banking when required
  • Build and leverage relationships with companies under coverage and industry experts, while also collaborating with the corporate access team

Your skills and experience

  • Educated to undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification/work experience, with additional financial qualification (Associate Chartered Accountant/ Chartered Financial Analyst (ACA/CFA) or equivalent qualification/ work experience
  • Previous relevant professional experience either in financial markets (buy or sell side) or a mining corporate role preferred
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in building financial models and using Microsoft Excel
  • Strong writing skills are a must, together with the ability to produce succinct and commercial research notes
  • Enjoyment of working in a collaborative team structure that strives for innovative answers to complex problems
  • A self-starter with good communication and interpersonal skills
