Columbia Threadneedle Tax Efficient Portfolio Solutions team manages tax efficient Separately Managed account (SMA) strategies. The strategy, also known as Direct Indexing within the industry, is experiencing robust growth. Quantitative techniques and technology-based solutions are employed to manage client portfolios. The Analyst role is an integral member of the Portfolio Management team and will be involved in Business Development, Portfolio Management, Research and Tech Automation activities. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is comfortable in both working independently and collaborating with teams. Curiosity, attention to detail, ability to work under tight deadlines and good communication skills are important qualities to be successful in this role.

Responsibilities:

 

-          Oversee and manage proposals sent to clients demonstrating tax and risk impacts of transitioning their portfolio(s) to a Tax Efficient strategy. Trouble shoot issues and pursue supplemental analysis, when needed. Explain results to internal partners, when needed. 

-          Support Portfolio Managers in rebalancing accounts. Independently rebalance a segment of accounts and respond to client requests such as cash additions, cash raises and gifting.

-          Pursue Operational Efficiencies by designing and coordinating with software engineers to improve or build new tools related to portfolio management, account onboarding and servicing or business development processes

-          Collaborate to perform research on new strategies and/or new applications of existing strategies. Follow developments with 3rd party partners such as index and risk model providers

-          Ability to work independently or coordinate when needed

 

Requirements:

 

-          3-5 years industry experience

-          Bachelor’s degree with commitment to pursuing CFA designation

- Knowledge of Equities markets, modern portfolio theory, and investment concepts

-          Programming skills: Microsoft VBA, python are preferred. High proficiency using Excel is required.

-          Familiarity with multi-factor risk models, portfolio optimizers, Factset and/or Bloomberg

-          Proficient writing and presenting skills

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $125,000- $150,000 / year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
