Epic Business Analyst

United States Work at Home Full time

We are looking for a skilled and driven Business Analyst to join the Business Enablement team at Evernorth Workplace Care. This individual contributor role plays a critical part in supporting Epic EHR implementations and driving cross-functional business initiatives across Health Centers, Custom Coaching, Occupational Health, and Behavioral Health services.

As a key liaison between business operations and IT, the Business Analyst will help optimize and maintain the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. This position requires a strong understanding of Epic’s technical capabilities and the workflows of healthcare professionals. The analyst will collaborate with operational teams to translate business needs into system functionality, analyze processes, and identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement to ensure the EHR system supports seamless daily operations.

Ideal candidates will have extensive Epic or healthcare experience and demonstrate success in both waterfall and agile project environments. While Epic certification is preferred (Cadence, Prelude, Welcome, Resolute, HIM), it is not required; however, hands-on, in-depth knowledge of Epic workflows and functionality is essential. Candidates must be able to analyze business requirements, optimize processes, and support system enhancements with proven on-the-job expertise

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate business needs into functional specifications and work closely with technical teams for implementation.

  • Provide end-user support for clinical staff and coaches, including troubleshooting Epic-related issues and guiding appropriate process solutions.

  • Manage and maintain Epic work queues, including error resolution and HIM-related tasks, such as performing patient record merges to eliminate duplicates.

  • Analyze and validate patient data within Epic, correcting inconsistencies and ensuring accuracy.

  • Directly support center and coach staff to create and maintain their daily schedule in Epic.

  • Perform system testing, validation, and troubleshooting for Epic applications.

  • Collaborate with operations and training teams to recommend application configurations and governance standards and analyze workflows to identify improvements within Epic modules.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements for Epic-related projects and develop business requirements that meet operational standards and support end-user adoption.

  • Participate in multiple concurrent Epic projects from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client commitments.

  • Serve as a liaison between technical and business teams, translating requirements and ensuring readiness for go-live activities.

  • Contribute to system design discussions, project planning, and operational strategy sessions.

  • Communicate regularly with project managers and cross-functional teams, escalating issues that require leadership attention.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in healthcare or technology implementations, including at least 5 years of hands-on experience with Epic systems (clinical or business modules).

  • Strong understanding of Epic workflows and integration points.

  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, along with excellent written and verbal communication abilities to effectively influence across all levels.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with virtual teams, while managing multiple priorities and working independently.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint) and familiarity with reporting tools.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 76,400 - 127,300 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.

We want you to be healthy, balanced, and feel secure. That’s why you’ll enjoy a comprehensive range of benefits, with a focus on supporting your whole health. Starting on day one of your employment, you’ll be offered several health-related benefits including medical, vision, dental, and well-being and behavioral health programs.
