Engineering Manager

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineering Manager to join the Customer Information Management team within Consumer Technology. This Software Engineering Manager will have in-depth experience with Hogan systems, a strong understanding of modern engineering principles, and exposure to emerging Generative AI capabilities to join the Customer Information Management team within Consumer Technology. This Engineering Manager will lead modernization efforts across legacy Hogan components, strengthen engineering excellence, and drive innovation by integrating GenAI-driven accelerators, automation, and intelligent engineering practices into the team’s delivery model.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and develop engineering talent by managing engineers and junior managers, guiding technical execution, hiring and mentoring team members, building skills through hands‑on collaboration in the codebase, and ensuring high‑quality delivery aligned to Agile and DevOps practices.
  • Drive technical strategy and modernization by partnering with architects and cross‑functional teams to align with Banking Platform Architecture, enable cloud‑ready and modernized designs, ensure security, scalability, and stability, resolve technology roadblocks, and represent engineering in cross-team planning and decision-making.
  • Optimize delivery and operational excellence by overseeing end‑to‑end software development, meeting non‑functional requirements, ensuring adherence to security and risk standards, managing vendor relationships, and allocating financial and human resources effectively to support product priorities and organizational goals.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 2+ years of Leadership experience
  • 4+ years of hands‑on experience with the Hogan CIS platform

Desired Qualifications

  • Cloud exposure (AWS/Azure), Kubernetes, and observability (Grafana, Splunk)
  • Enterprise integration experience bridging mainframe (Hogan/CIS or equivalent) with modern microservices
  • Knowledge in Java/Spring Boot architecture, API design, and event-driven systems
  • Experience with Kafka (topics/partitions, ordering, retries), RDBMS (PostgreSQL/DB2), and ORM (JPA/Hibernate)
  • Practical experience with Generative AI and Prompt Engineering, including leveraging GenAI tools to accelerate development, improve documentation quality, automate analysis, and enhance team productivity
  • Experienced with leadership of cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Hands-on familiarity with mainframe constructs: JCL, DB2, VSAM, batch scheduling, file transfer (SFTP/MQ)
  • Proven delivery of data migrations: bulk loads, CDC, schema evolution, and reconciliation at scale
  • Data lineage and catalog tools; experience creating recon files and snapshot comparisons
  • Experience with Axway/enterprise file transfer, Voltage or similar data protection

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$119,000.00 - $224,000.00
