As a The Engineer - Customer Project Engineering you will be responsible for designing systems and hardware in compliance with the applicable engineering standards and customer specifications.
As an Engineer - Customer Project Engineering, you will be responsible for:
- Reviewing contract documents to ensure alignment with the project scope.
- Ensuring compliance with the customer specifications, hardware requirements, and applicable industry codes and standards.
- Creating equipment functional design specifications and detailed design documents for the machine monitoring, protection, and condition-monitoring systems.
- Preparing detailed bills of material, specify components, and develop ordering drawings.
- Configuring software as per the customer, machine OEM inputs, and internal best practices.
- Creating electrical control cabinet designs and all required documentation in accordance with the industry standards and customer requirements.
- Developing and revising project drawings (system interconnects, power wiring, layouts, loop diagrams, block diagrams) using CAD, EPLAN, and MicroStation.
- Following quality procedures and standard engineering processes.
- Incorporating new design techniques to improve engineering efficiency and accuracy.
- Delivering defect-free designs within project timelines and budget allocations.
- Interacting with customers and suppliers, supporting design reviews and technical discussions.
- Participating in or leading customer witness testing for the engineered systems.
- Archiving engineering documentation, software configuration, and reports as per the archival process.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Instrumentation & Control.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant industry experience in electrical design, instrumentation, or control systems.
- Proficiency with CAD, EPLAN, and MicroStation for creating and reviewing project drawings (interconnects, power wiring, layouts, loops, block diagrams).
- Strong computer and networking skills, including proficiency with MS Office.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering concepts related to cabinet and system design.
- Knowledge of rotating machinery operation and control systems.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with proven ability to structure and write technical documentation.
- Self-starter able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Ability and willingness to travel for site surveys and customer meetings when required.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Bently Nevada machinery protection systems and condition monitoring systems.
- Experience with turbo-rotary equipment control, protection, and operation.
- Field, project, or maintenance experience in energy or oil & gas environments.
- Understanding of ISO design control standards.
- Familiarity with CSA, ATEX, CE, and other industrial/country specific agency approvals.
