What success looks like in this role:

Job Title: P2- CloudOps Engineer

Job Description:

CloudOps Engineer with 3–5 years of experience to manage, monitor, and optimize our cloud-based infrastructure. The role involves working closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of cloud services.

Key Responsibilities:

Cloud Infrastructure Management

• Deploy, configure, and manage cloud resources (compute, storage, networking, databases).
• Maintain high availability and scalability of cloud environments.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform/CloudFormation/ARM templates.

Monitoring & Operations

• Monitor system performance, uptime, and resource utilization.
• Set up and manage monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Stackdriver, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
• Perform incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.

Automation & CI/CD

• Support build and release pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Automate repetitive tasks for deployments, scaling, and backups.

Security & Compliance

• Apply security best practices in cloud environments.
• Manage IAM roles, security groups, firewalls, and policies.
• Conduct periodic security reviews and patching.

Collaboration & Support

• Work with DevOps, SRE, and Development teams to support new workloads.
• Provide L2/L3 support for cloud-related incidents.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS / Azure / GCP.
• Strong understanding of Linux/Windows system administration.
• Familiarity with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes is a plus).
• Basic understanding of cloud networking (VPC, Subnets, VPN, Load Balancers, DNS).
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Good scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).

You will be successful in this role if you have:

BA/BS degree and 2-4 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
