Senior Project Manager 

The Visual Arts Malaysia is a passionate team within the PlayStation family, provides world-class content, development, and services to PlayStation’s studios all over the world. Always at the cutting edge of technology, Visual Arts works with studios like Naughty Dog, Insomniac, Santa Monica Studios, Guerrilla Games, Sucker Punch, San Diego Studio, and more first-party teams.  Our team is made up of game and film industry professionals from all over the world, working with some of the best minds and companies around. 

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead cross-functional teams and deliver complex projects on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills to manage diverse stakeholders and ensure operational excellence. This role requires a proven ability to foster high-trust team cultures and maintain strategic alignment across production pipelines. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget, and on quality. 
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans. 
  • Drive the development roadmap and backlog management for your team to ensure alignment with our partner studios. 
  • Optimize team scope and capacity to maintain sustainable production velocity. 
  • Facilitate discussions regarding scope management and tasks prioritization. 
  • Manage project risks by developing and executing effective mitigation plans. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for partners to manage expectations and deliverables effectively. 
  • Communicate project status, risks, and production bottlenecks clearly to all stakeholders and senior management. 
  • Build and maintain strong, high-trust relationships with key stakeholders and project partners. 
  • Promote best practices in project management methodology to improve overall team efficiency and output quality. 
  • Foster a high-trust team culture and mentor Project Managers and Project Coordinators toward greater autonomy. 

 

Qualifications 

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in the video game or a related industry. 
  • Proven ability to grasp technical workflows and coordinate effectively within a production group. 
  • Expertise in common Production methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) as well as software (Jira, Flow, Excel, Miro, Project, Confluence, or equivalents) 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Excellent organizational & prioritization skills, attention to detail, process knowledge and the ability to multi-task. 
  • Ability to maintain composure and lead effectively under high-pressure situations. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred. 
  • Fluency in Mandarin preferred.
