Embedded SW Manager

Responsibilities and key activities:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team consist of embedded software engineers, including hiring, performance evaluation, career development planning, and fostering a collaborative technical culture.
  • Define embedded software development strategies, roadmaps, and resource plans to meet product timelines, quality standards, and cost targets.
  • Oversee the design, coding, testing, and debugging of embedded software (using C/C++, RTOS, Linux, MCU/SoC platforms), ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware engineering, product management, QA, and manufacturing teams to resolve technical bottlenecks and ensure seamless integration of software and hardware.
  • Establish and optimize development processes (Agile/Scrum), tools (e.g., Git, JIRA, Keil, IAR), and best practices (code reviews, unit testing, version control) to improve team efficiency and software reliability.
  • Stay updated on emerging embedded technologies (e.g., edge AI, low-power IoT, industrial protocols) and evaluate their application to enhance product competitiveness.

We expect you to have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of embedded software development experience, plus 2+ years of people management experience for a team lead or project lead.
  • Deep understanding of embedded system architecture, device drivers, communication protocols, and embedded debugging tools.
  • Proven track record of delivering embedded software projects on time and within budget
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to balance technical depth with strategic business priorities.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and software development lifecycle management tools (JIRA, Confluence, GitLab) is required.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance or safety-critical systems is a plus.
  • Elevator/Escalator industry development experience is preferred.
