Minimum Requirements:
Five years of trade experience as a fully qualified Journeyperson in a large industrial facility
High voltage experience maintaining, servicing, troubleshooting and switching high voltage systems (equipment up to 15KV)
A valid Alberta Journeyperson certified or Interprovincial Red Seal Electrician certificate; attach your Journeyperson / Red Seal ticket with your application in order to be considered
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

Key Accountabilities:
Execute planned maintenance and response work
Install, inspect, commission, and troubleshoot Electrical Heat Trace (EHT) systems used for freeze protection and process temperature maintenance across oil sands facilities
Install, service, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide spectrum of plant electrical equipment and machinery in high- and low-voltage applications
Maintain, test and ensure the functionality of electrical equipment protection systems, safety systems, emergency shutdown (ESD) equipment, and backup systems
Execute preventative and predictive maintenance programs for electrical systems and participate in failure analysis discussions
Plan jobs, which includes material assessment and selection
Develop and execute switching procedures
Maintain equipment histories as required
Location and other Key Details:
You will work out of a Syncrude location in Fort McMurray, Alberta
The shift schedule is a four days on / three days off rotation; 10hr shifts
This position is safety sensitive
You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory.
