The Role

Raytheon UK are about to undertake a transformational learning programme for the Royal Navy, our Design and Assessment Specialists are integral to the learner experience. They play key roles in ensuring that our customers and learners receive the highest quality training. These experts have extensive knowledge in both instructional design and learning systems, allowing them to provide advice and coaching on effective programs tailored to the needs of the Royal Navy. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess demonstrable knowledge of adapting training materials to reflect active learning approaches and utilising trending technologies to exploit these approaches.

  • Support the development of a unique training programmes that perfectly fits a range of technical specialisms, using a range of training approaches that are different from the conventional training system to excite learners and demonstrably improve and asses cognition of the learner.

  • Be expert in various learning platforms/learning technologies able to advice the training design teams on the best way to customise training courses using updated technologies to match our customers varying needs.

  • Provide instruction to learning design teams and tailor course design and assessments specifically tailored to the client’s goals. These assessments are often used to measure progress, evaluate results, and identify areas of improvement.

  • Support the navigation of the accreditation process and ensuring that all requirements are met for an organisation’s successful outcome is also part of training and assessment specialists’ forte. This can include designing training materials, helping to create summative and formative tests and exams, or providing guidance on other accreditation-related aspects.

  • Coach the Courseware Designers on how to use innovative instructional strategies such as gamification, virtual reality simulations, adaptive learning technologies, and other updated techniques. Using innovative learning strategies and materials to offer learners a wide range of learning and assessment possibilities.

  • Continually assess the impact of our training content and implement continuous improvement based on data driven outcomes

  • Responsible for the continuous professional development of yourself.

  • Employees are responsible for their own Health and Safety and that of work colleagues and customers.

  • Follow security standards and system requirements to protect data and ensure smooth operations.

  • Any other duties required to support the Integrated Training Design Service.

Required experience

  • Excellent communication skills at all levels both internally and within the customer organisation.
  • Development and delivery environment and have contributed to the design of significant training courses.
  • The training design and development processes for training media.
  • Experienced and capable of working within a team.

Desirable experience

  • AGILE methodology and working practice.
  • Using programme management tools and applications.
  • Training and/or Instructional Design Detailed knowledge and practical experience of: UK Ministry of Defence procedures and policies Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT).
