A drain technician inspects, cleans, and repairs drain and sewer systems in residential, commercial, and industrial properties. They diagnose drainage issues and resolve problems like clogs, leaks, and damage to ensure proper water flow and sanitation.

Essential Job Functions

1.    Perform drain cleaning services using tools such as augers, hydro-jetters, and camera inspection equipment for residential and commercial customers.
2.    Diagnose and repair plumbing issues, including leaks, clogs, and system failures.
Install and maintain plumbing fixtures, including sinks, faucets, water heaters, and piping systems.
3.    Inspect plumbing systems and identify potential issues or inefficiencies.
4.    Provide accurate cost estimates and project timelines.
5.    Diagnoses and troubleshoots drain and sewer issues, identifying the root cause of blockages, backups, and slow drains.
6.    Perform preventative maintenance services on drainage systems to reduce the likelihood of future issues.
7.    Communicate effectively with customers, explaining issues, presenting solutions, and providing upfront pricing for recommended services.
8.    Maintain and care for company tools, equipment, and vehicles, ensuring they are in proper working condition.
9.    Responsible for working safely, adhering to all aspects of our Health, Safety, and Environmental Program, and supporting all Company safety efforts.
10.    Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Skills 
1.    At least 6 months - 1 year of Drain Cleaning experience
2.    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
3.    Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
4.    Proficient with computers and familiar with the Microsoft Software Suite.  
5.    Demonstrates firm conflict resolution and negotiating skills.
6.    Strong organizational skills.
7.    Must be able to multitask, have strong attention to detail, and have excellent time management skills to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
8.    Able to identify a need, remove barriers, and know how to make things happen.
9.    Values diversity of ideas, opinions, and people. Has common sense and applied logic.
10.    Must possess or obtain an appropriate state driver’s license before employment, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
