OIDS is currently seeking a full-time Division Chief to manage the Capital Trial Division - Sapulpa office.
Basic Purpose
This position is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the division. This includes all tasks and responsibilities required for providing legal representation and administrative functions such as case management, division budget, and other administrative functions.

The functions performed in this job family will vary by level, unit and organization, but may include the following:
Level Descriptor
Levels are distinguished based on the complexity of assigned duties, the level of expertise required for completion of work assignments, and the responsibility assigned for the supervision of others.
This is the supervisory level for the job family where employees are responsible for all administrative and legal functions assigned to the division. This includes management of division budget, contracting for professional services, workload management, maintaining and improving legal representation, and other assigned functions.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of supervisory practices and principles; state budget and financials rules and procedures; and state contracting; legal principles and their application; legal research methods; the scope of Oklahoma Statutory laws and provisions; the Oklahoma Constitution; the principles of administrative and constitutional law; and knowledge of case review
Skills required include skill in analyzing data; developing short- and long- range goals; building working relationships with internal and external partners.
Abilities required include ability to provide leadership to staff in the delivery of legal representation; serve in an advisory capacity to staff, contract, or volunteer attorneys; and gather and disseminate information to internal and external partners, as needed.
Education and Experience
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, member in good standing of the Oklahoma Bar Association, three (3) years of relevant criminal law experience, and relevant management experience.
Special Requirements
Must abide by the Oklahoma Rules of Professional Conduct, (5 O.S. Chapter 1, Appendix 3-A).
Must comply with the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements of the Oklahoma Bar Association and the agency.
Job-related travel is required for this position.
